This policy explains what information Real Tokyo Guide (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit realtokyoguide.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Real Tokyo Guide is a travel website about Tokyo. You can reach us through our contact page or at contact@realtokyoguide.com.
Information you give us
When you send a message through our contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject and message. We use this only to read and answer your message. The message is delivered to our email inbox; it is not stored in the website’s database. We keep it for as long as needed to handle your request, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Messages may be checked by an automated spam filter before they reach us.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are read most. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. This information is processed by Google.
- Article view counts. We count how many times each article is opened so that we can show popular articles. The count is a number only and does not record who you are.
- Server logs and security. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser type and time of access. We use security tools that may process this information to block malicious traffic.
Saved articles
When you save an article with the bookmark button, the list is kept in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is not linked to your name or to an account. To show your list, your browser may ask our site for the titles of those articles. You can clear the list by removing the bookmarks or by clearing your browser’s site data.
Advertising
We may show advertisements provided by third parties such as Google. These companies may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Content from other services
Some pages include content from other companies, such as Google Maps, web fonts from Google Fonts, and videos or posts from social networks.
